Separation Anxiety

i think i'm getting claustrophobic
alone and left to think of you

have you forgotten all about me
i am the one that put those roses
in your hair and left them there
in your vase and kept them alive
in your home so you wouldn't be alone

i was always your shoulder
here to absorb your tears and pain


your ear to chew on if you needed
someone to bite down onto
and i love you no matter what

and i love you even if you want me gone

yet you still throw me away like trash
push me aside so i can rot alone

just because he wants you to
even though you don't want me to fight
when he’s the one you’re with
when he's the one who ignores you
when he's the one who kicks you around


it feels like my walls are closing in
when i let you behind them with me

and you tear them down and push
them aside like they are just
obstacles in your way meant to hurt you
obstacles in your way just to control you
obstacles in your way trying to protect you

i am not the person who wont let you go
because you think he can protect you


i'm about to fall asleep with your picture
polaroid snapped just so i could keep
you in my heart every time you leave
you in my face whenever you're gone
you in my life when my song is sung

as far as i know you still love me
but why don't you make me understand

if he loves you so much more than me
then answer just these questions
why do you let him scar your face
why do you let him call you names
why do you let him sap your strength


tell me why you want me to stay when
you keep saying that you want me gone?
