Staring into the sun, my mind binds itself to the rays
bending the supple limbs in search for celestial ghosts.
As the curtain swings to cover us, our secrets are safe.
I wonder, will time pass before the sun will again breach defenses?
I have often lost the minutes betwixt night and day,
and the kaleidoscope crepusculum colours me sightless
Leaving me in a daze
The air tastes of honeysuckle and mildew, strangely sweet,
reminding me of memories, and promises that I could not keep.
Moments lost, and sight be found,
I miss the moon, it's subtle glow amongst the dark.
Fantastic swirling galaxies haunt my waking dreams
or have they taken over my conscious thought?
Nothing is certain, safe for the minutes swirling by
I hosted the first Pass the Poem several years ago and had a great turn out. Since then I have done 3 other Pass the Poems and several other group collaborations. Other deviants and groups have adapted Pass the Poem for their own and brought a minor collaboration to many people. Collaborations themselves can bring together many artists from various mediums to work together on one project bringing a new standard of quality to their work. I invite everyone to participate in this event, whether you have never written before or you are a New York Times best selling author. It only takes one line to participate and maybe a little vision and as artists, vision is noit one thing we are lacking.
How It Works
First each interested deviant must send
VertigoArt a note to sign up. You may comment here, but only by noting me will you guarantee your spot. Just let me know that you are interested and I will send you information as to what you will be responsible for after that and your time frame.
After I have all the sign-ups I will determine whether there will be one poem or multiple ones. The deviants will be split into groups if there are multiple pieces. The poem (or poems) will be given a starting line and/or a theme and the list will go on. THe poem will be passed to each person in line for up to 48 hours and then passed back to me at which time I will pass it on to the next deviant in line.
At the end of the list I will compile the piece(s) and post them in a journal. Each deviant is welcome to post the final piece as a deviation, giving credit where it is due. Please post no work until it has been posted in a journal by me.
Sign-up Deadline
Wednesday August 20, 2014 @ 10:00 pm EST (GMT -5) will be the deadline for sign-up to participate.
I look forward to seeing what your minds will churn out.
I will update this journal with participants as I receive them.
I will also take ideas for first lines/themes here.
