WaterI lap at your feet, welcoming you into my depths.
Seducing your toes to step closer, wade further
It’s a cool day, and I offer warmth and comfort
Begging you to swim, even though you know
I know
That danger lurks with me
I entice your senses,
A single dance with the darkness
A sway into danger,
Can’t be that bad,

Everything was ready. Most importantly, all of us had prepared our parachutes to catch the wind. We had been that way for quite a while.
Now all was left was to wait for the wind itself, and that gust of air was certainly taking its time. There were a number of us who had become very frustrated at how long it was taking, but it was not as if the forces of nature ever had to listen to what we thought. Like its peers, the air currents came and went as it pleased.
Not that I particularly minded that. Some of my siblings were a little more impatient, but they were the optimistic lot who did not think that anything could ever go wrong. They were the ones who longed for adventure. For their whole lives, they had been waiting for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and now that they were so close to it, they could not wait.
I was rather proud of being in part of the sane crowd - that is, the majority of us who would gladly wait another lifetime for our adventur

EmbryonicLying on my side
Knees drawn to chest
And arms curled around my knees
The soft thick blue padding
On which I lay warms
And yet cools my naked skin
Through my lithium fueled eyes
And Thorazine slowed brain
I notice ever so slowly that
I am surrounded with
And floating on and in blue softness
Everything I see is water like blue
As blue as stilled pond water
Water so heavy that I float listlessly
On its surface yet feel also like I am sinking
Sinking and floating so effortlessly
This injection that sent me back to the womb
Where my mind begins to format itself
A sudden sharp pain opens my eyes
And my mind to this cocoon like environment
The warmth starts to leave my being
My body trembles and begins to shake
My limbs begin to unfurl themselves
But not quite all the way
As the rush of the new drug causes me
To rewrap myself in my own warm embrace
The trembling and shaking cease
Warmth returns to fuel my mind and body
And the cycle starts over again for I am

Writing Again
I have found a new muse and words having been coming out. I will share some of them and I would be happy to hear from those of you that are still on this site. If not, I will continue to use this as a storage facility for he inner most thoughts of my deviant mind.
I did a thing.
I entered a slam poetry competition. 24 contestants, 3 placed winners. My first in 15 years. Wish me luck. Also, with this and the upswing of my culinary career, my submissions here will probably be next to nothing in the near future.
Best of luck to you all.
Rewrite Challenge
I am issuing a challenge to all writers.
Rewrite a famous poem or song with your words transforming the meaning to an opposite feeling. There is no end date to this, just tag me and this journal in your comments.
To give a for instance:
"Found" from "Hurt"
...I found myself today
to see if you still care
I focus on your eyes
to show you I am still right here...
