Studying the Senses - Contest Closed

The senses contest is closed. I am, however, going to extend the deadline until Thursday, June 12^th. My 7^th wedding anniversary (and Father's Day)is the 15^th which is a Saturday and my little sister has a birthday on the 14^th as well as my daughter's first dance recital. So I am please trying to get those last minute entries in

Traditionally there are five senses: touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight. Some claim there is a "sixth sense". There is no definitive proof of the sixth sense, but I, personally, believe that it exists. Some claim it is an otherworldly sense where you are aware of the supernatural. Not vampires and werewolves, but energy around us existing to control the world around us. So, by this, there are six senses and all of us have our favorite sense; one we would lose our sexual organs to keep.

Immerse yourself in one sense and find its purpose, its true meaning. Any of the six senses can be assumed, but one sense must be singled out. It can be your favorite sense or a sense you find a kinship with or even a sense you would be okay with losing. Just take on one of the six and write. Write from the sense's point of view or your point of view or the point of view of a third party. It makes no difference

To enter the contest you must write a piece of poetry or prose accomplishing the goals of the challenge.

A new piece, submitted on or after May 12, 2014
Prose or Poetry only
No FanFiction, must be completely original
Poetry must be at least 5 lines and may not be longer that 75 lines
Prose must be no longer than 800 words
Any deviant may enter
Submissions must be sent to VertigoArt in a note by June 7, 2014
Notes must have the subject line of [Prose/Poetry] Submission for Senses contest [deviantname]
